How to install JivoChat on Magento

Method 1: Use official JivoChat Module in Magento Marketplace

Magento had stopped supporting Magento M1 extensions. Below instructions are only applicable for M2 users, M1 users can use Method 2 and 3 listed below

In the Magento Apps Marketplace, go to JivoChat’s page. Select your Magento version and click “Add to Cart”.

Then click on your cart at top-right, after that click “Proceed Checkout”.

Then complete your order. After that you will see success screen, click “Install” at right.

You will be redirected to access key page, click “Create a New Access Key” button and name it as “jivochat”. Save these keys somewhere, you will use it soon.

Now you can go to your Magento Admin Panel and complete your installation. Please watch the video below by Magento Support on how to activate your installations.

Steps:

Once you have installed JivoChat to your Magento, click JivoChat module at left menu. You can either create a new account or login to your existing account.

If you have an account already, you can enter the email address and password you use for JivoChat to complete installation.

If you don’t have an account, you can create a new one. Type your email, password and your agent name to be shown to your visitors, then choose the language of the widget. Click signup.

And that’s it, here you have it. You can click “Install Agent App” to download agent app to your computer (recommended), or you can use web-browser based app to start chatting with your visitors. Remember, we also have apps for iOS and Android, and you can use desktop and mobile apps simultaneously.

Oh, one last point. After installation, whenever you visit “JivoChat Module” page at your admin panel, you will see the screen below. You can hide/show your widget with a switch whenever you want.

Method 2: Install JivoChat via Admin Panel

In the Magento Admin Panel, go to “System” menu and click on “Configuration”:

On the next page, select “Design” and then click on “Footer”:

When the Footer section expands, locate the “Miscellaneous HTML” field and insert the JivoChat code in this field. Don’t forget to save changes by clicking the “Save Config” button.

Method 3: Install the JivoChat via design source files

This method will require you to insert the JivoChat code into the “footer.phtml” file. This file is in your Magento installation folder which can be found in the following path: “/app/design/frontend/default/{Your design theme name}/template/page/html/”:

To edit the footer.phtml file, open it in notepad and insert the JivoChat code at the end of the file. Save the file and then complete the next steps.

In the Magento Admin Panel Open menu, go to “System” and click on “Cache Management”.

On the Cache Storage Management page, select all of the cache types by clicking “Select All” and then press the “Submit” button.
